Impact Day has always been one of my favorite days of the year because it shows what can happen when we all step outside our normal routines and get our hands dirty for something bigger.
This year, 251 of us teamed up with Habitat for Humanity of Oakland County and spent the day all over Pontiac. We cleaned up and revived four neighborhood parks, added mini libraries to three of them, and helped twelve homeowners restore their yards into spaces they can truly take pride in again.
We also partnered with Micah 6 on four projects that strengthened the neighborhoods we’ve come to know so well. None of it was glamorous work, but it mattered. You could see it in the smiles, the thank-yous, and the way people stopped to lend a hand even when they didn’t have to.
We call it Impact Day, but the truth is, impact happens here all year long.
You can see it in every partnership we build, every volunteer event we show up for, every small action that adds up to real change.
Our team has already given more than 5,000 hours of their time this year, but what makes this day different is that we get to do it together.
