At Vibe, we believe leadership starts with compassion, connection, and a willingness to make a difference in the lives of others.
Through our annual scholarship program, we’re proud to recognize graduating Vibe members who are already creating meaningful impact within their communities while pursuing their educational goals.
Meet Dillan Lindberg, one of our 2026 Vibe Scholarship recipients.
For Dillan, service has always meant showing up for people before they even have to ask for help.
That mindset was shaped early by his mom, who taught him that true service is about giving selflessly and supporting others through life’s challenges. Over time, that lesson became something Dillan carried into every part of his life, from church camps and mission trips to the way he connects with people in his own community.
One of the experiences that impacted him most began at a church program called Flip Camp. What started as a fun summer camp quickly became something much deeper. After attending as a child for several years, Dillan knew he wanted to help create the same joy and sense of belonging for younger kids.
He first volunteered as a snack runner, but it did not take long before he stepped into a larger leadership role as a camp counselor. Each summer, Dillan returns with the same goal: helping kids feel welcomed, encouraged, and excited to be themselves. This summer will mark his seventh year serving as a counselor.
Through those experiences, Dillan discovered that meaningful service often happens in small, everyday moments, whether that means making someone laugh, helping them feel included, or simply being present.
His commitment to helping others has also extended far beyond camp.
Dillan participated in “Hope Week,” a local mission initiative supporting individuals living in homeless shelters, where he helped build playground equipment, gardened, and served meals for families in need. He has also traveled to Tennessee to help rebuild homes after tornado damage and served internationally in Guadalajara, Mexico, supporting an English camp and community outreach efforts.
Each experience strengthened his belief that service has the power to restore hope and bring people together.
This fall, Dillan will attend the University of Toledo to study Multimedia Communication with plans to pursue a career as a sports commentator. Alongside his academic goals, he plans to continue serving through mission work, church involvement, and mentoring opportunities that allow him to keep making a positive impact wherever he goes.
