It's officially autumn! Fall is a special time in Michigan. As the trees get bolder and the weather cools down, there is no shortage of activities to enjoy with friends and family. From apple picking to trick or treating, enjoying the fall weather doesn't have to break the bank. We've gathered the best fall activities on a budget to make the 2024 fall season one to remember.
We asked our team members what fall activities on a budget they are most looking forward to attending. Check out their suggestions for taking advantage of everything Michigan's Fall offers.
Visit Cook's Dairy Farm in Ortonville, MI, where they've made high-quality and delicious ice cream since 1933.
Take a scenic drive to admire the fall colors. Our team recommends the Tunnel of Trees, which takes you down M-119, or the Lansing River Trail, which runs along the Grand and Red Cedar Rivers, for some of the best seasonal views in Michigan.
Visit a cider mill, pumpkin patch, or apple orchard. Our team loves Blake's in Armada and Spicer's in Fenton. There are also corn mazes and haunted houses throughout the metro Detroit area.
Visit Terror on Tillson Street for a family-friendly, spooky experience where you can enjoy jaw-dropping Halloween decorations while making a difference by donating to the Wounded Warriors Project.
Take part in local events such as Fall Harvest Weekend at Greenfield Village to partake in historic food, demonstrations, and crafts. The Detroit Zoo has events throughout October, including their Zoo Boo for kids and 21+ Spooky Spirit event.
